Robert Grimsrud of Estevan, SK, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2019. He is one of the directors elected by District 3 which is comprised of 44 member co-ops in Saskatchewan. Robert has primary responsibility for 14 member co-ops.
As an FCL Director, Robert is Chair of the Board’s Human Resources Committee and is a member of the Code of Conduct and Ethics Committee.
Robert was on the Board of Southern Plains Co-op (formerly Estevan Co-op) for 24 years, retiring from the position in 2019. He served as President and Chair of the Board from 1997 to 2019. Robert previously served as a Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Delegate, representing his district for three years. Robert has also been involved with various other organizations in his community over the years.
Robert and his wife, Pauline, have two adult sons, Axel and Justis, two daughters-in-law and a granddaughter, Lainey. They are very happy to be able to play an active role in their lives.
Robert attended the University of Saskatchewan where he earned degrees from the College of Commerce and College of Law. Robert has been employed in Estevan by Legal Aid Saskatchewan since 2000 and is currently General Counsel for the organization. Pauline is also employed in Estevan and is involved in a number of organizations.
Robert grew up on the family farm south of Torquay, SK. Robert and his family now operate the farm, which has been in the family for over 115 years and has been a certified organic operation since 1999.
